This Special 2022 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition Honors Firefighters
The next phase of service celebration kicks off with tribute to the heroes who battle the heat.
Through its Built to Serve special edition Ram 1500 trucks, Ram recognizes and honors those who serve or have served their communities. What turned out to be the first phase of the Built to Serve initiative commemorated each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, with the limited-run Ram trucks paying tribute to the Army, Marine Corps,Navy,Air Force, and the Coast Guard. We went a little above and beyond by concocting a Space Force Ram, a theoretical sixth-branch edition that Ram never actually built, just for fun.
Ram, not content to end its discourse of thankfulness, continues its onslaught of Built to Serve special editions in 2022 by initiating phase two, this time dedicated to first responder services. The first of these new rigs will honor firefighters, followed by tributes to police officers and emergency medical service providers.
The Built to Serve 2020, 2021, and now 2022 Ram 1500 trucks wear unique details and trimmings, but they're all basically similar with one exception: differing special low-volume exterior paint colors. The most recent firefighter-inspired edition is offered in Redline and Diamond Black. For reference: Army edition is offered in a choice of Gator (green) and Diamond Black Crystal; Navy edition is offered in Ceramic Gray and Patriot Blue; Air Force edition is offered in Anvil (gray) and Billet Silver Metallic; Marine Corps edition is offered in Tank (green) and Flame Red; and the Coast Guard edition comes in Spitfire (orange) paint and Bright White.
Ram 1500 Built to Serve trucks get a special bedside America Flag decal with Built to Serve inscripted underneath. They roll on 20-inch aluminum wheels coated in a unique Technical Gray finish surrounded by body-color wheel flares. The wheels, American flag decal, and snazzy colors are the best identifiers of these limited edition trucks.
The exterior is complemented by a bevy of black parts and accessories: grille (and everything surrounding it), bumpers, light bezels, badges, side steps, and dual four-inch exhaust tips. All that black looks good, no matter the exterior color.
The inside of the firefighter Built to Serve Ram 1500 features black cloth and vinyl Sport seats with orange accent stitching and Black Onyx chrome interior trim. The embroidered Velcro seat panels also carry over to the edition, providing a place for owners to stick patches and other memorabilia. There's a prominent Built to Serve badge near the passenger side glove box. Lockable center console storage is optional.
