2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Expert Review

If Prius styling is too radical for you, Toyota now offers its hybrid technology in a much more sedate package. With the 2020 Corolla Hybrid, Toyota attempts to combine the best of both worlds, with the Prius hatchback's efficiency and the Corolla's more conventional sedan shape. Available in just one trim, the Corolla Hybrid is extraordinarily efficient. EPA-rated mileage of 53/52 mpg city/highway puts the Corolla in the same league as the vaunted 2020 Prius (54/50 mpg), but less than the 2020 Prius Eco (58/53 mpg).
As for the rest of the package, the 2020 Corolla Hybrid is not much different from the non-hybrid's base engine. There's not much driving enjoyment to be had, and the Honda Insight sedan is significantly quicker and more refined though not as efficient. But if all you're looking for is an efficient commuter with the hard-to-achieve Excellent value rating from IntelliChoice , try the Corolla Hybrid.
