2026 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Expert Review

Reviewed by Alex Leanse

With the Evoque, Land Rover offers a sense of the Range Rover’s allure in a subcompact package. This small SUV was introduced for model year 2011, and the current second-generation model has been on sale since 2020. The Evoque’s rivals include the Volvo EX30, Acura ADX, and BMW X1.

What’s New

  • Dynamic SE trim gets 360-degree camera with Wade Sensing, Graphite Atlas gray exterior trim details, brushed aluminum interior panels
  • Evoque S trim gets dark anodized interior trim details
  • Black brake calipers offered as standalone option
  • Black Exterior Styling package introduced
  • Dark Agate Gray finish offered for 20-inch wheels

What We Think

Outward appearance is an important factor for luxury SUVs, and the Range Rover Evoque shows off with chic, modern styling. But beyond that image, Land Rover’s smallest SUV lacks substance.

The Evoque looks upscale on the outside and inside. Start to feel around, though, and it’s easy to find cheap-feeling materials around the cabin. Firm seat padding counters the Evoque’s luxury aims. Land Rover’s infotainment setup looks techy yet frustrates by how it controls nearly every setting and simple function.

It has nimble handling on smooth surfaces. The ride is generally a bit firm, though it’s better now after the SUV’s 2024 update. Mediocre acceleration, jumpy accelerator responses, harsh shifts, and poor fuel economy vex its powertrain.

On top of all this, the Evoque is older and more expensive than many of its rivals. It’s easy to be drawn to this sleek little crossover, but competitors seem like smarter choices.

Performance and MPGs

All 2026 Evoque models are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine badged P250. It makes 249 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, which goes through a nine-speed automatic transmission to standard AWD. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes 7.5 seconds, and fuel economy is rated at 20/27 mpg city/highway.

Safety and Driver Assist Features

The Evoque is equipped with driver assist and active safety features including front automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beams. Front and rear parking sensors are also standard, while the higher-end Dynamic SE trim gets a 360-degree camera with Wade Sensing this year.

Cargo Space and Interior Room

Although the Evoque’s interior feels more spacious than its numbers might suggest, it remains on the smaller side even among small SUVs.

Evoque S vs. Dynamic SE: What's the Difference?

In base S trim, the 2026 Evoque starts at just over $51,000. It includes 18-inch wheels, leather interior upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, an 11.4-inch curved touchscreen, and a panoramic moonroof among standard niceties. Pricing for the Evoque Dynamic SE begins at approximately $56,500. Upgrades include 19-inch wheels, sporty exterior styling, metal pedals and door sills, and a 360-degree camera.
