2026 Lucid Motors Earth Expert Review

Reviewed by Billy Rehbock

Lucid has been slow to introduce a vehicle that serves as a more affordable entry point to its lineup, but that’s about to change. The 2026 Lucid Earth is on its way as a midsize all-electric SUV, set to sit below the three-row Gravity in the automaker’s model range. Rivals include the Rivian R2, Tesla Model Y, and Cadillac Lyriq.

When Will the Lucid Earth Arrive and How Much Will It Cost?

Announced during Lucid’s 2024 Technology and Manufacturing Day, the Earth is targeted to enter production in late 2026. Lucid is aiming to launch with a starting price under $50,000. If the Earth’s trim structure follows that of the Lucid Air sedan, expect the top-level trim to sit around $80,000. If a high-performance Sapphire model is added to the lineup, its starting price could touch the $150,000 mark.

What Will Power the 2026 Lucid Earth?

We only have a few crumbs of information about the Lucid Earth’s powertrain, but the new Atlas drive unit gives us an indication of what’s to come. Smaller than what’s found in the Air sedan and Gravity SUV, the aptly named drive unit will motivate the Lucid Earth with approximately 335 hp. Expect the Earth to be offered with single- and dual-motor powertrain layouts.

Range and Charging

Lucid equips the Gravity and Air with smaller batteries than rivals, but deliver the same range with better efficiency through miniaturization. Expect the same to be the case for the 2026 Lucid Earth, which could use any of the automaker’s existing packs such as its 88- or 92-kWh units. The Lucid Air can achieve over 400 miles of range with either of these options, so it’s a safe bet that the Earth will receive a similar rating.

We expect Lucid will equip the Earth with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug pioneered by Tesla rather than J1772-CCS previously used on the Air. This would allow the 2026 Earth to use Tesla’s Supercharger network and add 200 miles of range in 15 minutes. The Lucid Air charges at a stated maximum of 300 kW, but we’ve observed a peak of 343 in our testing. We anticipate the Earth will perform similarly.

Safety Features

Expect the 2026 Lucid Earth to debut with much of the same DreamDrive Premium safety tech as the Air sedan. Standard equipment should include front and rear automatic emergency braking, camera-assisted blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. We also anticipate a 360-degree camera and semi-automated parking assist to be part of the Earth’s offerings. Lucid will likely make its DreamDrive Pro suite available, which adds highway assist.

Technology

We suspect that Lucid could continue to use a 34.0-inch OLED display in the Earth SUV and a smaller lower touchscreen that controls many of the vehicle’s climate control and entertainment settings. Other standard tech should include navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. Lucid could carry over its dual-touchpad steering wheel, available head-up display, and car karaoke features that appear on the larger Gravity.
