Amazon is expanding its car-selling business to include used and certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles, broadening its footprint in the automotive space. The e-commerce giant first entered the industry in late 2024 through a partnership with Hyundai, allowing customers to browse and purchase new vehicles directly on Amazon’s site.

Now, the online shopping behemoth is giving buyers more options, albeit a somewhat limited set: The used and CPO vehicles are in the inventories of Hyundai dealerships already participating in the new-car program. The company does plan to expand its network by partnering with additional dealerships in the coming months, signaling a deeper push into online car sales.

At launch, used and certified pre-owned listings will be limited to the Los Angeles area, but Amazon plans to roll out availability nationwide in the coming months. This follows the model set by Amazon’s new-car marketplace, which currently offers listings in more than 130 cities across the U.S.

Customers purchasing a used or certified pre-owned vehicle through Amazon will enjoy many of the same benefits as new-car buyers. For starters, all pricing is transparent: What you see online is what you’ll pay. There’s no haggling, no hidden fees, and the entire process can be completed from the comfort of your home. When you arrive at the dealership, there won’t be any last-minute price changes or surprises.

Every used and CPO vehicle listed on Amazon Autos includes a free Experian vehicle history report, which include the vehicle's condition, accident history, odometer reading, outstanding recalls and service history. Additionally, buyers are covered by a three-day or 300-mile return policy, as well as a minimum 30-day or 1,000-mile limited warranty. That means if you're not satisfied with your purchase, you can return the vehicle within three days—so long as you haven't added more than 300 miles—with no questions asked. Buyers can schedule a test drive at the dealership to make sure the vehicle meets their expectations on the day they're picking up the vehicle, or before they close the deal.

Used and certified pre-owned vehicle listings on Amazon Autos go live this Monday. A quick check already reveals a variety of used inventory from participating Hyundai dealerships, including models from Mazda, Genesis, Jeep, Subaru, GMC, and more. Similar to new-vehicle listings, used and CPO vehicles are displayed based on your zip code, showing options within a 75-mile radius to help shoppers find cars available nearby.

With the addition of used and CPO vehicles, Amazon is taking another significant step toward reshaping how people buy cars. By blending dealership inventory with the ease of online shopping, the company is positioning itself as an important player in the car-shopping space. As the program expands to more cities and dealerships, Amazon could become a go-to destination not just for gadgets and groceries, but for your next car, too.
