Shelby American Announces Limited Edition Mustang with 750-plus Horsepower and Race Car Handling and Braking
Shelby To Revive Terlingua Racing Team 2016 Ford MustangHot on the heels of the 330hp Shelby GT EcoBoost, the 670hp Shelby GT and the automatic-equipped 750hp Shelby Super Snake, Shelby American of Las Vegas rolled out its latest pony, the special edition Terlingua Racing Team Mustang.
Mustang aficionados will remember the limited edition V6 Terlingua Mustang in 2007, designed to pay homage to Terlingua Racing Team created in the 1960s. More than just racing, the Terlingua Racing Team, headed by Carroll Shelby and Bill Neale, would hunt, ride motorcycles and tear up on a 200,000-acre ranch. They also created a technical school for young men in the desolate region of Texas. The brand and eponymous jackrabbit logo from the Terlingua Ranch in Texas, have now been revived with a V8 Mustang set to produce over 750 horsepower and feature race car like handling and performance.
Today Shelby American announced a limited run of just 50 Shelby Terlingua Racing Team Mustangs that will be built around the wildly popular 2015-2016 Ford Mustang GT. “The Shelby Terlingua is our most track-inspired Mustang and is built as a tribute to the Terlingua Racing Team and their 1967 Trans Am Championship,” said Gary Schechner, VP of Marketing and Sales at Shelby American.
