S550 Shelby GT EcoBoost Mustang Unveiled
Shelby American puts its signature touch on the all-new EcoBoost Mustang
Shelby has long been a name synonymous with performance in the Mustang world and they’ve certainly given enthusiast more to drool about over the last few years, especially the all-new GT350R and Super Snake. But what if you’re not really in need of the ultimate horsepower machine but you still want your ‘stang to feature the signature Shelby touch? Well, luckily Shelby has just unveiled their all-new S550 Shelby GT EcoBoost and it definitely has many of the cool Shelby features that will make your mouth water.
The Shelby GT EcoBoost combines all of the aesthetic elements that enthusiasts have come to expect from a Shelby Mustang with the high-end performance that is delivered on the Mustang GT platforms. The Shelby GT EcoBoost features a carbon fiber hood, front splitter and rocker panels while a set of 20-inch Weld Racing Venice wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport rubber give the car an aggressive stance.
A specialty-tuned Ford Performance Handling Pack adds to the Mustang’s handling characteristics while a Ford Performance exhaust with unique Shelby tips allow the 2.3L EcoBoost engine to breathe easier and sound a little meaner. As if that wasn’t enough, you can also option it out with more than a few upgrades including brakes, half-shafts, brake duct kits and transmission cooling options.
Inside you’ll find a unique dash plaque as well as Shelby embroidered headrests and Shelby floor mats and sill plates. You can also row through the gears in style with a Ford Performance short throw shifter. If you want to take it even further, you can still add all the normal Shelby GT upgrades like a Race Seats and 5-point harnesses and even a roll cage.
