Here’s What We Think About This Spare Tire-Mounted Recovery Gear Box
It’s not waterproof, but it keeps your most-used gear at the ready.
Adam Greuner, owner of Off Road In Mind, needed a place to store his recovery gear. It seemed that every time his pals needed to be extracted, his recovery materials were buried deep inside his rig, where they were difficult to access. His solution? The Recovery Gear Box—a lockable storage unit that attaches to the spare tire of most vehicles (or racks, ladders, etc.) that can house recovery gear and other itemsoutsidethe vehicle.
Here's Why It's Cool
- Store dirty/wet/snowy recovery straps and ropes outside your rig
- Keep your gear shackled to the bumper while stored!
- Fits virtually any spare tire
- Lockable

Installing the Recovery Gear Box
The Recovery Gear Box (RGB) ships with the RGB itself, two ratchet straps, and enough hook-and-loop (we'll call it Velcro) webbing to attach your gear to the box. Note: You must purchase the bolt lock separately.
