Addictive Desert Designs bumpers and Baja Designs LED lights made this Raptor capable of seeing deeper into the darkness.

New bumpers for our 2020 Ford Raptor included Addictive Desert Designs' Pro Bolt-On front bumper, Pro Bolt-On Add-On light hoop, and HoneyBadger rear bumper. Our choice of lighting came from the Baja Designs line and included its LP6 Pro LED Driving/Combo Amber, LP6 Pro LED Spot Amber, OnX6+ Amber 20-inch Driving LED lightbar, S8 10-inch Wide Driving White LED lightbar, and Squadron Sport Driving/Combo White LED lights. We did the smart thing and also got all the appropriate Baja Designs wiring harnesses specially designed for its lights.

The installation process began on the front end. The skidplate was unbolted (13mm and 15mm bolts), and then the metal spacer bar that the bottom two skidplate bolts go through was removed. Keep that 13mm socket handy as it will be also used to remove the skidplate mounting brackets from the frame.

No tools are needed to detach the front plastic piece from the bumper. It was gently pulled from the bumper by hand. Its removal revealed the location of some of the bolts holding the bumper to the frame.

We replaced the factory nut clips from the bottom skidplate mounting holes with the two new regular-length 3/8-inch nut-clips supplied in the Addictive Desert Designs 2017+ Ford Raptor Pro Bolt-On front bumper hardware kit.

The Addictive Desert Designs 2017+ Ford Raptor Pro Bolt-On front bumper gets two of the kit-supplied extra-long 3/8-inch clip nuts in the upper holes of the mounting bracket on each end of the bumper. Everything was now ready for the new bumper, but we took Addictive Desert Designs' advice and installed the Baja Designs OnX6+ 20-inch Amber Wide/Driving LED lightbar first.

We used the kit-supplied Addictive Desert Designs light mounting brackets designed specifically for use with its bumpers during this installation. That allowed a perfect custom fit for the Baja Designs lights such as the Baja Designs OnX6+ 20-inch Amber Wide/Driving LED lightbar front light seen here.

Using the supplied hardware from the Addictive Desert Designs lightbar mount kit for its 2017+ Ford Raptor Pro Bolt-On front bumper, the Baja Designs OnX6+ 20-inch Amber Wide/Driving LED lightbar was secured to the bumper's slotted lightbar mounting plate.

Attaching the Addictive Desert Designs 2017+ Ford Raptor Pro Bolt-On front bumper is best done with a friend to help hold it in place. Install finger-tight all the kit-supplied hardware down below on the lower skidplate mounting holes and up top on the frame horns. Once the bumper is straight and centered, torque the 1/2-inch bolts to 70 lb-ft and the 3/8-inch bolts to 25 lb-ft.

Secured to the Ford Raptor's frame horns, the Addictive Desert Designs 2017+ Ford Raptor Pro Bolt-On front bumper carrying the Baja Designs OnX6+ 20-inch Amber Wide/Driving LED lightbar looks quite smart. However, we're not done with the front end just yet.

The curved shape of the Addictive Desert Designs 2015-2020 Ford F150/Raptor Pro Bolt-On Add-On light hoop is designed to fit perfectly with the Addictive Desert Designs 2017+ Ford Raptor Pro Bolt-On front bumper. The multi-slotted light-mount plate on top makes positioning custom combinations of lights easy.

The Addictive Desert Designs 2015-2020 Ford F150/Raptor Pro Bolt-On Add-On light hoop comes with kit-supplied hardware and pieces of rubber trim. The two pieces of rubber trim must be cut in two places before installation on the "horns" of the light hoop.

Now lined with the rubber pieces to prevent metal-to-metal contact between the two pieces, the "horns" of the Addictive Desert Designs 2015-2020 Ford F150/Raptor Pro Bolt-On Add-On Light Hoop can be tucked under the top bar of the Addictive Desert Designs 2017+ Ford Raptor Pro Bolt-On front bumper, and the two mated using the kit-supplied 1/2-inch hardware torqued to 70 ft-lb.

Next, we installed the two Baja Designs LP6 Pro LED Driving/Combo Amber (outside) and the two LP6 Pro LED Spot Amber (inside) to the Addictive Desert Designs 2015-2020 Ford F150/Raptor Pro Bolt-On Add-On light hoop. The two Addictive Desert Designs products are designed to work together, and the combination of the five Baja Designs LED lights offer a total output of 66,100 lumens.

Using Baja Designs wiring kits that were specifically created for the Baja Designs LED lights during this installation made things a whole lot easier. The parking lights in the Baja Designs LP6s were powered by tapping into the front corner bumper marker light wiring loom.

Work on the rear end began with the careful removal of the trailer plug and its electrical connector, license plate and its lights, parking sensors and their mounting rings (keep track of which sensors go where), and the cable strap bolted to the hitch assembly. Then the plastic cover on the rear bumper was carefully removed.

Once the plastic cover was removed from the rear bumper and the parking sensor harness detached from the metal bumper ends, a T40 Torx bit was used to remove the five bolts holding each of the metal side pieces to the factory Ford Raptor rear bumper assembly.

The welds connecting the license plate structure to the rear frame were ground down as much as possible, but we had to resort to some pounding and prying to cut the license plate structure loose. Any bare metal spots were painted over to prevent corrosion.

Getting the hitch assembly completely loose from the frame was accomplished by removing the two 10mm nuts on each side of the hitch assembly that hold the exhaust and using a 13/16-inch socket to remove the six mounting bolts that hold the hitch assembly to the frame. We saved this hardware for reuse.

Lighting upgrades for the new Addictive Desert Designs HoneyBadger rear bumper were also sourced from Baja Designs. We chose a pair of Baja Designs 10-inch S8 LED Driving/Combo White lightbars and two Baja Designs Squadron Sport Driving/Combo White LED lights (one of each shown here).

The Baja Designs 10-inch S8 LED Driving/Combo White lightbars were bolted into place using kit-supplied hardware and secured to the Addictive Desert Designs rear bumper's lightbar brackets. The integrated mounting brackets allow the lightbars to be leveled.

Integrated brackets inside the Addictive Desert Designs HoneyBadger rear bumper were ready to accept the two Baja Designs Squadron Sport Driving/Combo White LED lights.

The special bracket for the trailer plug and electrical connector was also fitted up to the Addictive Desert Designs HoneyBadger rear bumper.

Now filled with lights, the Addictive Desert Designs HoneyBadger rear bumper was bolted up to the Ford Raptor's factory hitch assembly so that both could be attached to the rear of the frame as a single piece.

Power for the accent lighting in the two Baja Designs 10-inch S8 LED Driving/Combo White lightbars mounted in the was pulled from One of the Ford Raptor's taillights.

The Ford Raptor's factory upfitter switches easily handled the multiple Baja Designs LED lights and their functions. Switch 1 turns on the OnX6+ light bar and the low beams on the LP6s. Switch 2 sends power to the spots on the Combos and the two full Spots. Switch 3 connects the pair of Squadron Sport backup lights, and Switch 4 ignites the two rear 10-inch S-8 LED Light Bars.
