If there's one thing that Jeep has never feared, it's painting vehicles in wild and exciting colors. And these colors aren't just for concept vehicles, either. Colors such as Crush Orange, Cosmos Blue, Gecko, Punk'n, Mojito, and Xtreme Purple are just a few of the most recent colors to come for a short time and then disappear into the ether.

For the 2021 model year, the Jeep Wrangler SUV is offered in a choice of up to 12 paint colors. Of these, 11 require an upcharge of $245. The color that comes standard on all Jeep Wranglers is Bright White Clear Coat. Of the 14 (yes, 14!) base Jeep Wrangler trim levels, all but three get the option of all 12 colors. The street-oriented High Altitude comes with the choice of just five colors (Bright White, Black, Granite Crystal Metallic, Billet Silver, and Snazzberry). The Jeep Wrangler 80th Anniversary trim is available in 10 colors, dropping Sting Gray and Billet Silver. And the high-horsepower Wrangler 392 comes offered in just nine colors, losing Hellayella, Chief, and Nacho.

If for some reason you don't like this year's offerings, never fear—Jeep changes up its special colors almost annually. And if you enjoy the more basic colors, such as Sting Gray and Granite Crystal, you can rest easy knowing that these should be around for many more years to come.

Jason Gonderman was born and raised in sunny Southern California and grew up with subscriptions to 4-Wheel & Off-Road, Four Wheeler, and many other off-road magazines. The off-road bug bit hard after a summer building up a Baja Bug with friends to drive in the sand dunes of Glamis (Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area). After that it was over and he bought his first 4wd vehicle, a 1999 Ford Ranger that eventually transformed into a capable desert pre-runner and back-country adventurer. Jason has logged thousands of miles off-road in many different terrains and vehicles. He has raced the Baja 1000, participated in the Ultimate Adventure, and covered Top Truck Challenge, Diesel Power Challenge, Real Truck Club Challenge, and many other big name events. When not behind the computer Jason can be found fabricating truck parts, shooting short-course off-road races, riding dirt bikes with his wife, or participating in any sort of other 'extreme' activity.
