Ultimate Adventure 2022, Day 7

Gettin’ rad at Coalmont OHV Park, Tennessee.

The final day of Ultimate Adventure (UA) 2022 wrapped up on Day 7 at Coalmont OHV Park in Coalmont, Tennessee. In 2015, Ultimate Adventure visited Kimball, Tennessee, but 'wheeled at the nearby Adventure Off Road Park. Unlike the private parks visited earlier in the week, Coalmont is public land that the town bought from Grundy County with federal RTP funds, and although past years that have ended with a bang (literally) as participants abandoned the mantra of "'wheel for the week, not for the day," this year was relatively tame, covering trails in the 1,347-acre park. Still, the day started roughly for invited reader Matt Anderson, whose 302 engine developed a bad rod-knock and ultimately all but let go. Then Ian Johnson and Jeff Ismail battled electrical issues, and Ken Smith managed to tear his transfer case mount off on the way to a huge limestone cave in Coppinger Cove.

After returning to pavement and unlocking the hubs, the group headed to the local American Legion for their final supper of the trip. The cronies handed out their famous (or infamous) awards to the participants based on their escapades during the week, new friends were made, adventures were had, and everyone is already speculating about where the event will go next year.
