2015 Nissan 370Z

The 2015 Nissan 370Z coupe gains revised suspension tuning, new 18-inch wheels on base and Touring models , standard navigation on Touring grades, standard Bluetooth across the range, and a new base audio head unit on base and Sport trims. The Sport and Sport Touring variants are new additions to the range.

Nismo models gain revised exterior styling, LED daytime running lights, restyled 19-inch lightweight wheels, and redesigned sport seats with Alcantara inserts. The seven-speed automatic transmission with Downshift Rev Matching and Adaptive Shift is now available on the 370Z Nismo. A Nismo Tech trim has also been added for 2015.

Convertibles gain a new Touring Sport grade with a Viscous Limited Slip Differential, SychroRev Match, 19-inch Rays wheels, and Nissan sport brakes.

Vehicle Summary

The 2015 Nissan 370Z is a two-seat sports car sold in coupe or convertible body styles, slotting under the GT-R supercar. Coupes are sold in five grades with convertibles are available in three trims. Its sole engine is a 3.7-liter V6- making 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque (350 hp and 276 lb-ft in the 370Z Nismo) and paired to a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission.

Overview

The 2015 Nissan 370Z shines as a highly capable sports car with its powerful engine and excellent handling. It remains a great all-around performer with strong acceleration and a willing chassis that allows the car to take corners with confidence through its superb grip. Sport-and Nismo-grade 370Z's improves upon the car's excellent handling by adding an even more aggressive suspension setup and brakes, a limited slip differential, and larger 19-inch wheels with performance tires.

Interior space in the 2015 370Z is only good for two but the seats hold occupants in place well during spirited driving through twisty roads. Tech features such as the optional navigation system with a seven-inch touch screen are easy to use with redundant controls while cabin materials are of good quality that are soft to the touch.

The 2015 Nissan 370Z has not been crash tested by the NHTSA or the IIHS.

What We Think

The 2015 Nissan 370Z continues to serve a sing purpose and that is to provide driving enjoyment. In a 2011 First Test, we said that the 370Z provides exceptional levels of performance that makes it "feel sharp, direct, and balanced" with little compromise. However, opting for the 19-inch wheels does increase the road noise entering the cabin and makes it ride slightly firmer. In a 2010 Roadster Comparison Test, we noted that the 370Z's cabin has "well-conceived touches" with "soft suede-like material" in places where "your knees, elbows, and hands touch." The car's exterior styling, however, means that it has many blind spots due to the sloping roof line while the convertible's awkward dimensions don't make it attractive or elegant and "doesn't look the way a roadster should." Additionally, the powertrain's lack of refinement means it "sounds coarse and feels rough," leading to poor NVH levels.
