The redesigned 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD gains new exterior and interior styling, improved interiors, and 4G LTE Connection via OnStar. Towing capability has also been improved to 19,600 pounds for conventional trailering and 23,200 pounds with a fifth wheel/gooseneck.

The 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD is a heavy duty truck available in two bed lengths, three cab styles, and in rear- or four-wheel drive configurations. A chassis cab is also available for customers who plan to use the truck for duties that don't require a bed. GMC also offers the Sierra 3500HD in Denali trim, which includes more upscale appointments, a navigation system, and GM's Intellilink infotainment system.
Overview
Two V-8 engines are offered: a 6.0-liter V-8 making 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque on gas or 301 hp and 333 lb-ft on CNG, and a turbocharged 6.6-liter diesel V-8 rated at 397 hp and 765 lb-ft Both units are carried over from the previous model year and are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Opting for the diesel engine adds $8,495 to the truck's price.
Interior fit and finish is much better compared to previous models. Better quality materials are used throughout the cabin, especially in Denali models, which have the most upscale appointments. The suspension has been reworked for improved comfort regardless of whether the truck is loaded or unloaded.
What We Think
Improvements made to ride comfort and interior build quality make the 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD a more refined truck that's easier to live with. We said in a First Drive review of GM's heavy duty trucks that these vehicles now ride better since comfort has become an important selling point. The upgraded interior features better materials and is quieter thanks to triple-sealed inlaid door and hydraulic body mounts.
