2015 Chrysler Town & Country Expert Review

The 2015 Chrysler Town & Country gains a new trim level called Limited Platinum, which includes additional features such as Nappa leather upholstery, dual-screen Blu-ray DVD system, power sunroof, and memory seating and mirrors. This trim comes standard with 17-inch aluminum wheels, and the SafetyTec Package and Driver's Convenience Group, which include heated front- and second-row seats and a heated steering wheel.

Overview
Refinement isn't one of the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country's strong points, with plenty of wind noise penetrating the cabin while the ride is rough and bumpy due to the minivan's stiff suspension setup. Additionally, road imperfections caused "a worrying amount of shakes, squeaks, and rattles" throughout the Town & Country's cabin. Thanks to the 3.6-liter V-6 from Chrysler Pentastar engine family, the minivan accelerates well, with an as-tested 0-60 mph time of 7.8 seconds.
Fit and finish isn't particularly impressive due to the extensive use of hard plastics throughout the minivan's interior, making it feel less upscale even with generous amounts of high-grade leather swathed on the seats and door panels. There's plenty of space for hauling cargo in the 2015 Town & Country with up to 143.8 cubic feet of volume when the second and third rows are folded flat into the floor. Chrysler's UConnect infotainment system is available in the 2015 Town & Country but it isn't the more modern unit found on newer Fiat-Chrysler Group vehicles. This one uses a smaller 6.5-inch touchscreen featuring a Garmin-based navigation system with infotainment graphics that show the minivan's age.
The NHTSA gave the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country a four-star overall safety score (out of a possible five stars). In IIHS evaluations, the minivan received a Good rating on four categories and poor on the small overlap front crash test (Good is the highest possible score).
What We Think
While it remains a reasonable choice in the minivan segment, the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country is showing its age. In a comparison test among five minivans, the Town & Country placed last due to its dated interior, questionably build quality, and cramped passenger space. Its Stow 'n Go seats, on the other hand, enables owners to fold the second and third rows flat into the floor. Due in part to the sporty model we tested, the Town & Country's ride , was too bumpy -- we'd recommend skipping the S trim.
